Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit describes skills and knowledge required to select and use established tools, systems, technologies, conventions and standards to search, retrieve and validate data from catalogues at an introductory level.It applies to individuals working in a library or information services context, under supervision, who apply a general understanding of cataloguing and bibliographic concepts in their job.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in the Library – Information Management field of work and include access to: special purpose tools, equipment, materials and industry software packages current cataloguing rules, technologies and systems relevant policy and procedures documents. Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational education and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards. |
